FAQ

  • 1. What do you bring compared to the competition?

There are several aspects that deserve to be highlighted. The guarantee of a flawless product confirmed by their use by the largest offset (Heidelberg, KBA MetroPrint, Presstek, etc.) and large format (FujiFilm Europe, Océ, Gandinnovations USA and Canada, HP etc.) printer manufacturers. A price up to ten times lower for similar levels of functionality. Multiplataform (Mac and PC). Optimized execution speed with few machine resources.

  • 2. Can I obtain a trial license?

Yes, but only as a temporary rental. Our solutions are protected by a physical key which plugs into the USB port and therefore we do not provide free trial licenses. What we do provide is a temporary two-month license (for the Pro and Ultra editions) at a price of 429 €, which is deducted from the final price when purchase is made at the end of the trial period.

  • 3. How can I buy and pay for the license?

You can buy it directly from our website through the PayPal secure payment gateway, which accepts all major credit cards. In some countries there are authentication restrictions that may cause delays of several days in verifying the card. In these cases Imagiam can sell the product to you directly by paying with Visa or MasterCard. If preferred, you can make the payment via direct wire transfer from your bank to ours.

  • 4. If I buy now a license with the basic functions to start working (e.g. Standard), can I then upgrade to more advanced licenses later (e.g. Ultra)?

Yes, Imagiam guarantees the investment made in the purchase of the initial license: we will apply a discount to the price of the more advanced license which is equal to 80% of the amount initially paid.

  • 5. How do I learn to make lenticular images?

From the experiences accumulated with our customers, we have designed a series of guided tutorials which will lead you, step by step, through the entire process necessary to achieve high-quality lenticular images. If you wish to shorten the learning process, Imagiam maintains excellent relations with DPLenticular, which provides on-site training for our products.

  • 6. Can I print lenticular images in Offset?

Yes, provided you have UV technology, which allows direct printing on plastic. Imagiam solutions add registration marks on the output images to ensure perfect alignment between plastics and the Offset press. We suggest you start working with 40 LPI plastics, which allow you to make all types of effects with a reasonable effort. Later, with enough practice, you can gradually increase the LPI number to 75, 100, 150, etc. Imagiam solutions have no limit on the number of lenses.

  • 7. Can I print lenticular images in Digital Large Format?

Yes, provided your printer resolution is higher than 600 DPI. The higher the resolution the better the lenticular images. We recommend using 40 LPI plastics, which allow you to make all types of effects with a reasonable technical complexity. With Digital Large Format, you can print on paper or directly on plastic. If you print on paper, you later have to cold laminate in plastic. If you have UV technology you can print directly on plastic. In both cases Imagiam solutions add registration marks on the output images to ensure the successful completion of the process.

  • 8. Can I print lenticular images in Inkjet?

Yes, provided your printer has a minimum physical resolution of 600 DPI and you use plastics up to 40 LPI. If your resolution is higher you can increase the LPI number. With Inkjet you will be printing on paper first and then performing cold lamination with plastic. Imagiam solutions add registration marks on the output images to ensure flawless execution of the laminating process.

  • 9. Can I print directly on plastic or do I need to print on paper?

You can print directly on plastic if you have UV technology (Offset and Digital) or on a paper medium that afterwards must be cold laminated together with the plastic and a transparent double-face adhesive (Inkjet and Large Format).

  • 10. Do you sell lenticular plastics directly?

No, Imagiam is a software provider only, but we have good relationships with plastics manufacturers and we recommend our clients use only high quality, homogeneously-manufactured products such as those provided by Pacur (through Lenstar) or DPLenticular.

  • 11. How can I access new versions of the software from older versions (3.x or earlier)?

Imagiam provides access to its new versions through a one-time maintenance payment equal to 15% per year elapsed from the purchase date to the present time. The update is made by remote update of the USB dongle.
